This is really a tent-camping park. Although the spring timing of our visit meant that the cacti and wildflowers were blooming like crazy, the sun was HOT and we only had time for short hikes along the paved loop road. Next time in the area, it would be great to do a few nights in a tent in the backcountry – which is where the real magic of the park seems to happen.
